After many months and some missteps in development, honeydo.com is pushing the Launch Button. This project has been an incredible learning experience…the hard
way. We certainly have a long way yet to
go, but the launch is at least a measurable milestone the company history. Hopefully, we will look back on this one day
and laugh and celebrate the first major step in the journey.
Since the Inception of the Honeydo.com idea in 2007, Ted and I have learned more than a little about the adage “What you don’t know won’t hurt you!” WRONG. What you don’t know can not only hurt you, but can put the very core of your plan at risk. Hopefully, with the addition of Jeff Douglas to help guide us around the technical quicksand, we can stay on dry ground and move a lot faster from here on.
Honeydo.com was our private vision during this period and we’ve got a lot of pent-up exuberance. With the launch, we want to begin to shape the vision and direction with lots of input from the community. At the core, our goal is to add measurable value to the community we serve. How will we do that? First we will do it by providing connections for Providers and Customers that deliver on the promises made. We will do it with a less expensive and more efficient way to acquire and deliver services, one that is disruptive to the traditional media channels for marketing and promotion. Much like the online dating services have eliminated the “Blind date”, Honeydo.com will eliminate the “Blind stab” at picking a provider. We will also try to help the “hapless” by having experts and experienced community members provide tips and guidance for Do-It-Yourselfers of all kinds. Finally (and very important in this struggling economy), we will give lots of folks the opportunity to use their skills and education to create a new business. A business that finally allows them to do something they are passionate about, and make them independent of the 9-5 grind working for someone else.
If any of this touches one of your own “hot” buttons, climb aboard and help us make the journey fun and rewarding for all.
